Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

As a female Brazilian researcher, I am sensitive to the challenges that people from different backgrounds and the socioeconomically underprivileged face in science. Facing limited resources, such as long wait times to obtain reagents and limited availability of equipment, has made me a well-organized researcher with excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in this limited resource environment. My time as a visiting graduate student and now as a postdoctoral researcher in Canada provided me with the experience of working with people from different cultures and backgrounds, showing me how important diversity and inclusion are in a research laboratory. Thus, I believe that as an international researcher, I can contribute positively to the Canadian research and industry by bringing different perspectives and positively affecting the way we do science and analyze data.
